Emily Wright is a part-time Research Assistant at the Center for News, Technology & Innovation. Emily also works as a Research Officer at Global Interagency Security Forum. Before joining CNTI, Emily was a Fulbright Research Fellow and Research Associate at Partners for Democratic Change Serbia in Belgrade where she focused on the implications of new digital policies for civil society activists and investigative journalists. Emily also held a variety of positions such as a Faculty Supervisor at The New School’s UN Summer Program and project management assistant at Catholic Relief Services.

She holds an M.A. in International Affairs from The New School, where her thesis explored the impact of new biometric/AI surveillance legislation on democratic development in Serbia. Emily earned her B.A. in International Studies from the University of Wyoming.
