Open Distribution & Access
Public access to an open, globally connected internet and independent news is fundamental to functioning, free societies. As policymakers consider internet and news regulations, two critical questions arise: Which policies will be sustainable for open distribution and consumption of news and information? How can we ensure international connectivity standards and discourage “sovereign” internet infrastructures? The public’s ability to create, access and share information within and across borders, and journalists’ ability to report and distribute it, must be protected.
